The Gospel of Luke 2:36–40 tells the story of the prophetess Anna, who continually praised God and waited for the moment when she would meet the infant Jesus in the temple.
Im Evangelium nach Lukas 2,36-40 geht es darum, dass die Prophetin Anna immerwährend Gott lobpreist; auf den Moment wartet, bis sie dem Jesuskind im Tempel begegnet.

Anna’s prophetic life teaches us that each of us must live our lives in such a way that our highest goal is to constantly prepare ourselves for the moment when we meet our divine Lord in the Temple of Heaven.

Unlike Anna, most of us are not called to literally fast every day and spend the entire day praying in church buildings. But like Anna, we must all cultivate an inner life of constant prayer and repentance, and direct all our actions in life toward the praise and glory of God and the salvation of our souls.
Anders als Anna sind die meisten nicht dazu aufgerufen, jeden Tag buchstäblich zu fasten und den ganzen Tag in den Kirchengebäuden zu beten. I pray that You daily reveal to me the unique way in which I am called to live out my vocation to total dedication to You. Jesus, I trust in You.
