Full quote. Newsletter 03-02-26. It is easy to lose our peace when things are not going our way. I still remember one of the messages of Our Lady of Kibeho—something I often reflected on, trying to understand.

She said we should love and accept our suffering with joy and love. Not only that, but we should also make sacrifices through self-denial in our daily lives. She told us to accept everything as a gift from God, and to be sure that He is even closer to us in suffering than in times of joy. It is the suffering that needs a Comforter, the sick that needs a doctor.
The wise understands this. In Rwanda there is a proverb that says, “When the body is too satisfied, the soul is slowly paralyzed.” Another says, “The fruits of blessings grow on a tree of sorrows.” Our Lady repeated these proverbs often to teach about life.
Jesus is truly the WAY. If only we can keep our gaze on Him. “Look to him and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed“ Psalm 34:5. Whenever I look at Jesus on the Cross, especially when I have something I am not happy about, I hear His words speaking to my heart: “I love you to death. I died for you because I love you. Do not worry about anything. This is the way it is done. Nails in my body from those I loved. A crown of thorns from my children, I dearly loved. Stripped naked by those I came to save. If things don’t go your way, don’t lose your peace, don’t get discouraged, I am with you. This is the way it is done: by the Cross, by giving of self, by making sacrifices. If you are hated unjustly, forgive them, keep loving them and praying for them, and don’t be surprised because it was done to me as well, I am the way, it will be done to you as well, what do you expect. If you are misunderstood, I was as well. If you are rejected by those you love, they did the same to me, don’t be surprised, I will restore things in time, I will console you. If you are persecuted, be grateful like St. Paul and repeat to me, ‘Your grace is enough.’ Ask me to help you in every situation, and I will, you will feel my love.” Without fail, tears of joy fill my eyes whenever I take the time to listen to Him speaking to my heart in front of the cross.
A visionary from Kibeho, once told me, how Jesus asked her to do a number of penances on behalf of somebody who was suffering greatly—but she did not do what He asked on time. A few days later, Our Lord appeared to her again and said, “Why am I still hearing the cries of that person? Did you do what I asked you to do?”
Don’t stop praying for others and even making sacrifices. Fast, walk or do an action of love for another. I just wanted to encourage you. Whatever you may be going through, don’t give up doing the right thing, and to keep going. Ask God for help—and consider looking back at the blessings that came from past sufferings. If He brought you through that then, He will bring you through this now. Pray for those you love, and don’t listen to anyone who says, “Don’t pray for me.” I was with a mother recently whose kid was telling her what he was suffering and yet he added, “But don’t pray for me—I don’t need prayers.” Please don’t listen to such request, pray anyway.
Pray for me, and I will pray for you.
God bless you,
Immaculee
